It's strange.
We say that things are different, but really, what has changed?
There are still lynchings.
Although not physical, we still have hopes dying
While those who have the power to make it stop go on spying.
Slavery is most evident.
Families and close friends are drifting further from the reason why they were sent.
The power still seems to belong to the man of the other.
We know not, nor want to know, why violence comes from our brothers.
Women are still being raped
In the mind. "Sex object" is the title given, and it's being worn proudly on a cape.
Eyes are blinded each time something promising is offered.
What is funny, although not, is what might come of our future sons and daughters.
Written off. We, as a people, have been dropped.
Our bright mental seem to have been... stopped.
Schools are ever so corrupt.
Parents do nothing but sit in the privacy of their homes and erupt.
"As long as it's not my baby, things are fine."
Is this what we have fallen to? Is this what really goes on in our minds?
We sat it, but actually, nothing has changed.
And we have the nerve to say that the times now are...strange?
